Family planning is a crucial aspect of public health and population control, influencing maternal and child health, economic stability, and societal well-being. This study examines the role of mass media in promoting family planning awareness in Nigeria. It explores how television, radio, newspapers, and digital media influence public perception and adoption of contraceptive methods. Utilizing a mixed-method research approach, data were collected through surveys and interviews with healthcare professionals, media personnel, and the general public. The findings reveal that mass media plays a significant role in disseminating family planning information, shaping attitudes, and influencing behavior. However, cultural beliefs, religious perceptions, and misinformation still pose challenges to effective communication. The study highlights the need for government agencies, health organizations, and media outlets to enhance educational campaigns, counter myths, and promote accessible, accurate information. Additionally, strategic collaboration between policymakers and media stakeholders can improve family planning initiatives, ensuring widespread adoption and acceptance. The study concludes that an integrated media approach, incorporating both traditional and digital platforms, is essential for maximizing family planning awareness and adoption in Nigeria.
