CORPORATE STRATEGY AS AN EFFECTIVE TOOL FOR ORGANIZATION SURVIVAL: (A STUDY OF  MTN NIGERIA OWERRI, IMO STATE

This research paper investigates the pivotal role of corporate strategy in ensuring organizational survival, specifically in the case of MTN Nigeria located in Owerri, Imo State. The study employs a mixed-method approach encompassing both desk and field research to provide a thorough evaluation of corporate strategies and their effectiveness. The literature review outlines critical theories surrounding corporate strategy implementation, while the findings reveal significant insights into MTN’s policy objectives and adherence to defined strategic goals. It highlights a robust commitment to regular reviews and evaluations of corporate strategies, ultimately pointing towards increased alignment with organizational objectives. Despite this, the research identifies significant challenges, including inadequate professional oversight in strategic decision-making. Recommendations emphasize the necessity for a meticulously crafted corporate strategy and professional management to oversee implementation effectively. The study calls for leveraging employee insights for enhanced strategy planning and execution. Furthermore, it advocates for the establishment of collaborative monitoring teams composed of policymakers and implementers to ensure accountability and success. This research contributes to the ongoing discourse on corporate strategy’s impact on performance and competitive advantage, providing a framework for future studies into the complexities of strategy execution in organizational settings.
