ABSTRACT:

This study critically investigates organizational crisis management, focusing on Anambra Motor Manufacturing Company (ANAMMCO) Plc, located in Emene, Enugu. Crises are a common feature of organisational life, often arising from strained relationships between employees and management, poor communication, or inadequate working conditions. This research explores the root causes of organisational crises at ANAMMCO and evaluates strategic approaches for managing and preventing them. Findings from both primary and secondary data sources reveal that key drivers of crises in the organisation include irregular payment of salaries, poor employee engagement in decision-making, substandard working conditions, and management’s insensitivity to staff welfare. These issues result in diminished morale, reduced productivity, and strained industrial relations. Using questionnaires, literature reviews, and chi-square statistical analysis, the study confirms that effective two-way communication, an open-door policy, and participatory management significantly reduce organisational conflicts. The research recommends that management must prioritise employee welfare, respect workers’ contributions, and foster inclusive decision-making practices to sustain a harmonious and productive work environment. Ultimately, this paper emphasises that proactive crisis management is not only essential for employee satisfaction but also for long-term organisational stability and performance.
