Abstract:

This research paper examines the impact of performance evaluation on employee efficiency within Nigeria’s corporate sector, specifically focusing on Nigeria Mineral Water Limca. Utilizing a sample of 385 employees selected through random sampling methods, qualitative and quantitative data were gathered via structured questionnaires. The study poses three critical research questions centered on the efficacy of performance evaluations, the challenges faced in staff career development, and viable solutions for improvement. Employing simple percentage analysis for data interpretation, the findings reveal that a structured performance evaluation system is pivotal for enhancing employee productivity and motivation. Effective performance appraisals not only facilitate improved individual output but also amplify overall organizational effectiveness. The study concludes that for performance evaluations to serve their intended purpose as a management control tool, an efficient planning system must be in place. Additionally, to enhance employee satisfaction and ensure organizational profitability, it is essential for companies to actively meet the needs and aspirations of their workforce. Recommendations include the adoption of robust management practices that foster a culture of continuous improvement through effective performance evaluation. This research significantly contributes to understanding the interrelationship between performance evaluation and employee efficiency, offering practical insights for organizations aiming to optimize their human resource management strategies.
